I finished my 30 pages! NaNoMangO was a success!

In case anyone was wondering, I'm not ceasing work on this story just because I hit the 30-page mark. I have the next 3 pages drawn already and plan to continue, though I'll need to slow down the pace a bit. Between work and this comic, I've been neglecting an awful lot of other stuff in my life.

However, I will not be posting new sketch pages on DA. I think only 2 or 3 people are reading it here who don't also follow me through other websites, and DA is so much more of a hassle to upload to. To those of you who would like to keep up with the story, please check my new poll or leave a comment and let me know where you'd like to see new pages posted!

The story: Ludwig the Rock
Summary: the story of a wayward rock and the girl who befriends him -- a girl who, in a purely technological world, dreams of growing a garden.

GASP! I forgot my random thought of the day. Here it is:

Does anyone name their kid "Ned" anymore?

Yeah I'm pathetic, during week two I only finished an even seven pages for NaNoMangO, a challenge to draw 30 comic pages in 30 days. I'm still ahead of schedule, though. Today (last day of week 3), I'll complete page 27 and probably a couple more in addition. I'm really counting on Thanksgiving weekend to help push me up in the page count. At this point I'd be happy if I completed 40-45 pages. That would also make up for the chapter title pages -- being who I am, I feel guilty counting them as pages since they're so simple.

This is the second scene of Ludwig the rock, or at least the first half of it. I've finished drawing this scene, but we'll have to wait till next week before I post it! (btw, I'm posting the pages to DA about a week after I post them to NaNoMangO.) In my opinion, pages 21-26 are the best!

I've signed up to participate in NaNoMangO this season, meaning that during the month of November, I will be drawing 30 comic pages (or more). So far, I'm in good shape and having lots of sleep-deprived, caffeinated fun.

In this first week, I managed to complete the first scene of the story (which I used to call the prologue until I realized it'd be 13 pages long and thought that felt too long for a prologue. ^_^) Since these are only sketch pages, I'm posting them to my scraps. At the end of each week, I'll post a journal entry with the week's pages.

I'm trying to catch up on the artwork of all my favorite deviants, but it'll take a little while. Sorry! Feel free to poke me if you have a picture you really want me to look at quick.

So what's been up? Well, been developing a crapload of collectibles at my job as a product developer/art director. And I've been examining my approach to artwork as a whole, and how I'm going to steer my portfolio. I've finally found my direction, which will be revealed in my next illustrations after the sort of brainless one I'm struggling to complete at the moment...

I've also renewed my efforts to make progress on Unholy. During November I'll be working on a different comic, though. It's not technically a nanomango thing because I'm not limiting myself to 30 pages, but I'm using the month as an excuse to do a complete story. Just a sketch comic, but it'll be super cute! Maybe I'll post some process work for it this month.

Also, from now on I will try to include a completely random comment in each of my journal entries. Why? Eh... Just because.

Today's random comment: I miss back when episodes of The Office were about, well, the office. I'm not to big on super-traditional standard romance.
