Well, that's still decently large, especially if you have a slow computer! :XD: I can tell that it was a good kind of pain, since you obviously put a lot of love into those details. :)

Well, *now* I have an awesome Macbook Pro! It's so fast and nice and perfect... Just out of curiosity, what kind of machine are you on?

I've actually got a nice machine now - I was thinking back to my old laptop, that used to slow down to a crawl if I had anything other than Painter open. X__x My current computer is a multi-processor PC with an NVIDIA GeForce 7300 video card. I'm not great with hardware, though, so my boyfriend customized all the specs. ^^; I've never used a Macbook Pro - must be sleek and fast. :)

Ooh, sounds nice! (Your new computer of course, not the old laptop. ;)) I've kind of forgotten how to figure out the specs on a PC, and I was never great with the hardware either.

The Macbook Pro is super awesome. I don't know what I'd do without it! ^_^

Are Macbook Pros pretty lightweight? What size screen do you have? I'm a bit of a size queen when it comes to monitors... ^^;

I think mine is around 7 lbs. - which feels very lightweight, especially considering it's a 17" widescreen. But I'm a size queen too; in addition to my laptop, I have a freestanding 30" monitor. (can we say "spoiled?") I got the laptop for the portability, but I can't stand laptop screens when it comes to doing the important parts of artwork and dealing with colors, etc., because even though the Macbook Pro monitor is really good for a laptop, it just doesn't compare to my super awesome 30" Mac monitor. (well, nothing does. ^_^)

This was all a huge and expensive investment, but I hang onto computers for many many years, so I'll definitely get my money's worth.

Oooooh, 30"... :drool: Mine's a 27", but I wish I had two - one for Painter or Photoshop, one for reference images and such. Do you use a monitor calibrator?

I don't use one, but it sounds like something that would be amazingly useful. Do you?

Ahh, dual screens are nice. Right now I don't take advantage of it like I should. When I'm hooked up to the big monitor, I turn off my laptop monitor. It's because my tablet is only 6"x8". Once I upgrade the tablet, I'll probably start using both screens at once.

Yeah, ~Nikkuman and I got a really good deal on a Huey Pro calibrator about a year ago, and it makes a huge difference, especially in the temperature of the color my monitor displays!If you have the money for one, i really recommend it. Sadly, people without calibrated monitors still won't see the colors right. :faint:

I think my tablet is 6x8, too...

That's the sad thing, that other people without calibrated monitors will still never see the artwork the way it's supposed to be. ;_; But even so, it sounds like a good idea! It'd make it so much easier to get accurate prints (provided the printer is also calibrated well!), plus it's be great if I could get my laptop screen to more closely match the color of my 30" monitor...

Okay, I've added this to my list of things I plan to get some time. (I'm a really bad procrastinator when it comes to buying computer and/or art stuff. ^_^)
