Artist's Comments

This piece was done for my illustration class early on in 2005. The assignment was to create an image for a charity. This is one of the few "serious" works I've done for my illustration classes... It's supposed to be for a bird rescue organization.

This was painted entirely in Photoshop. My cockatiel, Ebo, kindly agreed to model for me while I worked on this picture.

God I love cockatiels. They're such friendly little birds. This peice is so pretty, too.

Good news for people who love bad news.

EXCELLENT details on the Cockatiel itself. Great picture!
But I have to ask... What inspired you to draw a one-winged Cockatiel? Not that I think it's odd; it's actually kind of touching, in an odd, no-words-to-really-describe-it kind of way.
Wonderful!

Well, the assignment for this picture was to do a piece to benefit a charity, and the charity I chose was a bird rescue/rehabilitation type of thing. This piece is several years old, and if I were to redo it now, I'd probably choose an endangered bird species that's actually from America, but back when I did this piece, I'd just gotten Ebo (my cockatiel), so I was too eager to draw a cockatiel. ^_^

I love it! I've got a cockatiel too...except she's a snowy-faced cockatiel.

That's incredible...and to a good cause! My little darling escaped once...we found her after searching for four hours, but it was so very scary...she has a knack of getting into trouble: falling into toilets, crashing against windows, breaking her toy and nearly hanging herself, figuring out how to open up her cage door, etc. She's one clever little mischeif maker! Anyways, my point is, if she ever escaped, and was found, probably injured (given her record), it would be good to know that there are bird rescue shelters out there to help her out. Hopefully, it won't come to that.
